Life story retold by Heather Bonney
Martha Boulton (nee Sansum) was born in South Marston, Wiltshire on 21st March 1841 and died at 49 Albert Road, Reading on 24th August 1979 of TB. I attach a photo of her as a young girl.
She married John William Boulton. Martha Boulton was described as a painter’s wife in the 1871 census and was possibly a servant before her marriage.
She is buried with her husband, their son Tom, their daughter Emma Frances, their son-in-law Edward James Bonney and their granddaughter (Emma’s daughter), Julia Ellen.
