Edward James BONNEY (1861- 1935)

Life story retold by Heather Bonney

Edward James Bonney, born at 31 Coley Terrace, Reading on 23rd April 1861 and died on 7th November 1935, probably at 97 Castle Street, Reading.  He married Emma Frances Boulton. He was a baker at Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Factory for over 50 years.  I attach a photo of him with his family. He is the middle aged man on the right.

The little girl is my great aunt, Gladys Vera Bonney (daughter of Edward James Bonney), born 10th September 1907 who died in 1997.  She is being held by John William Boulton.

Family photo: 3 adults sitting at the front. On the left a wmoan with black dress, in the middle an older man with white beard. On his lap a little girl with pig tails and on the right a middle-aged man with a moustache, a suit, a waistcoat and pocket watch.
At the back standing up: a younger woman with her arm on the woman sitting at the front, a young boy (teenager?) in the middle and another young woman in a white high collar blouse to the right.

Edward is buried with his wife, daughter, his parents-in law and his brother-in-law.
